Non-profit & Mission-driven
Nonprofits and mission-driven organizations reach large audiences with small technical teams. Campaigns, local chapters, donations and volunteer sign-ups all run through the site, often kept up by people who have three other jobs. We set Magnolia DXP up so the people who run it day to day can actually run it, then we stay out of the way once they can.

The Audience Is Large. The Team Behind It Is Not
A national charity or a large faith organization can have more visitors than many companies and a fraction of the technical staff. The web team might be two people, and the editors are program staff, local coordinators and volunteers who publish between other work.
That changes what good engineering looks like. Every custom feature is something a small team has to maintain, so we build less and build it so it is hard to break. Every dollar answers to donors and a board, so the work has to be sized honestly. Magnolia gives you plenty of room to grow. The job is setting it up so your team can use it without calling us.
Four Things We Plan For In Every Non-profit Engagement
01
The Editors Change Often
Staff, volunteers and local coordinators come and go. Templates, permissions and short training have to carry the knowledge, not one person’s memory.
02
Local Chapters Want Their Own Pages
Regions and local offices need a local voice on shared components, so they publish on their own without each one becoming its own website.
03
Giving Runs Through Integrations
Donations, events and volunteer sign-ups usually live in a CRM or a payment platform. The site has to connect to them cleanly and keep working when they change.
04
Budgets Answer To A Board
Work gets sized and phased so each step is worth its cost on its own, with no long build that only pays off at the very end.
Where We Spend Our Time With Mission-driven Teams
Editor-first Setups
Author dialogs and templates built around how your staff actually publish, with permissions that lock down what should not be edited.
Chapter & Campaign Sites
One content model with a parent and child structure, so national content flows down to local sites and a campaign page goes up without a developer.
Donor & Volunteer Integrations
CRM, donation, event and email platforms connected through APIs, planned so a change on one side does not quietly break the other.
Stabilizing What You Have
When a setup has drifted, we fix what is holding it back without taking anything offline.

Questions Mission-driven Teams Ask Us
We have a small web team. Can we really run Magnolia?
Yes, if it is set up for a small team. That means fewer custom features, templates that cover most pages, and permissions that keep editors inside safe limits. Most of our work for teams like yours is making the platform simpler to run, not adding to it.
Can volunteers and local staff publish safely?
Yes. Editors get templates and author dialogs built for the pages they actually make, and permissions decide what each role can change. A new volunteer can publish a local event page without being able to break the homepage.
Can you connect our donation platform and CRM?
Yes. We connect Magnolia to donation, CRM, event and email platforms through their APIs, and plan what happens when one of them changes, so a vendor update does not quietly stop a donation form working.
How do you keep costs predictable?
By keeping scope small and clear. A short review tells you what is worth doing first, and focused work is sized as a fixed two weeks on one problem with an agreed success measure. Larger work is phased, so each step stands on its own.
Do we need a long-term retainer?
No. Some teams keep us on to move the platform forward, and some only call when something new comes up. We would rather leave your team more capable than more dependent on us.
Do you work in English and French?
Yes. We are based in Montreal and work in both every day, and multilingual publishing is part of how we set up the content model from the start.
